The world's largest generic drug maker, Lupin (Lupin Pharmaceuticals), recently announced plans to sell about a dozen more medicines to the United States market and a new market entry for the generic version of its blockbuster drug, Viagra (sildenafil citrate).
Lupin Pharmaceuticals said that the U. S. market for Viagra will reach more than $1 billion by 2020, making it the largest generic drug company in its class.
Sildenafil citrate, a drug used to treat pulmonary arterial hypertension, has been on the market since the 1970s and is one of the most commonly used medicines in the world, the company said.
